For the last four years, Tony Anderson, CEO of Cherryland Electric Cooperative (Cherryland), has hosted the Big Little Trail Races as part of his ongoing Marathon4Kids fundraising efforts to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of NW Michigan. This year, four Wolverine employees raced in the 5K event and all four placed in their age groups.
Cassandra Drys – 20-29 Age Group – 3rd Place
Jim Dietlin – 40-49 Age Group – 2nd Place
Laurie Millen – 40-49 Age Group – 3rd Place
Jacki Bailey – 60-69 Age Group – 1st Place
Wolverine has had a presence at this event from the start. Jacki Bailey and Laurie Millen have raced all four years. Tom King, Wolverine’s Director of Regulations and Policy, has also been involved each year, helping to clear the original trail and volunteering as the official scorekeeper. Zach Anderson, Merchant Operations Supervisor, has also pitched in each year performing various tasks. This year’s event raised $7500.
Way to go, Team Wolverine and a big thanks to Tony and the Cherryland crew for their commitment to serving kids in need of adult mentors! For more information and to find out how you can donate to the cause, check out http://www.marathon4kids.com/.
